Yesterday, Maquoketa reached Today, mostly cloudy and only in the 30's. HE WAS HIGH NOW AT p. Mayor Tom Messerli was easily re-elected today, winning over Pam Rosenberg, l, to votes.
This will be his second term. He is also a fireman.
Today is his 43rd birthday. Mention marriage and its "why ruin a good thing? In the 1st Ward, Alvin Barten was un-opposed and re-elected with votes. In the 2nd Ward, Tim Clark was elected to a full 4-year term with votes.
He was un-opposed. He was finishing out the term of a councilman that moved to Alaska.
In the 3rd Ward, there was no candidate. Current councilman Jim Bollman did not seek re-election. Winning that seat by write-in, Marsha Myers, with 18 votes.
She has been a Maquoketa resident for only a few years and I have no other information about her. In the 5th Ward, to replace Steve Flynn who is moving out of the city limits and could not run for that reason, there was a race between businessman Paul Hahle and businessman and ex-Mayor Jack Rosenberg.
Hahle won, to And that's the way they counted up today.
